11A - Idea Napkin No. 1

1) You. 

My major hobbies/passions include traveling, health and fitness, and cooking. I came up with the idea of this business because I was thinking of things that would be useful for me to use in my life, so I can envision myself using the app for planning out my meals every time I go grocery shipping.

2) What are you offering to customers? 

The app would provide an easy way to stay on top of finances and meal planning as well as making it easier to choose healthy options. It would let people find recipes and select the ones they want to make that week, showing all the information including nutrition information. It would give them a grocery shopping and enable them to integrate what they already have in their kitchen into the app. It would also help them save money by showing coupons that they can pin to the app and use at the grocery store. 

3) Who are you offering it to?

The characteristics that my customers would have in common is they all cook their own meals at home and they are looking for a way to just make that more easy and productive. They also might have a desire to cut down on grocery spending, by only buying what they need for pre-planned meals, and to cut down on time. My customers could also include people who want to start eating better but have trouble figuring out what to cook. I feel like specifically this app would be great for college students or busy parents.

4) Why do they care? 

In a service like this I would set it up so that there is a free version that is accessible to everyone, and then only some of the customers would pay for the "pro" or "subscription" version, which would have more specific features that would appeal to people.

5) What are your core competencies? 

The idea of this app emerged from me trying to find a solution to my own problem, so I believe I have a good understanding of the customer. 

I think these elements fit together, and I could see this app being something useful that I would definitely use.
